Once you've cleared out the Raiders, head in and talk to Preston.
Don't fire on the small group of people talking in the room at the far end of the hall near the museum's front.they're potential allies. You'll find several Raiders in this area. Proceed out the first exit to the winding hall and the stairway to the upper floor. The floor here is dotted with ammunition boxes and bags. Head up the stairs and break left and around, entering the door to the room with the huge wartime mural. Raiders may try to fire down on you from above. Use the terminal to unlock the cage with a simple hack and retrieve the Fusion Core that sits in the reactor on the other side. At the bottom is a locked cage and terminal. On the far side you'll find a large collapsed staircase. Turn right relative to the gate and weave through the rooms full of redcoat mannequins. Inside the museum, walk forward to the locked gate and grab the Bobby Pin box atop the dispenser to the left.
